Staking OMI in OMI Unlimited takes a few minutes. This guide walks through every step, from signing in to collecting your rewards when the season closes.
Before you start
You'll need:
- A VeVe account. You sign in to OMI Unlimited with it, and your rewards are delivered to it. If you don't have one, create a free account at veve.me first.
- At least 1,000,000 OMI on Base. If your OMI is on an exchange or on Ethereum, see how to buy OMI and move it to Base.
Step 1: Sign in with VeVe
Go to staking.ecomi.com and tap Sign in with VeVe. Approve the sign-in on VeVe and you'll come straight back. The first time you sign in, an embedded wallet is created for you automatically, so there's nothing to install.
Step 2: Get your OMI into the wallet you'll stake from
Open the Wallet tab to see your wallet address and balances. Send OMI to that address on the Base network, or use Get OMI for the swap and bridge options.
You can also stake from a third-party wallet such as MetaMask, Coinbase Wallet or Rainbow: connect it on the Wallet tab, link it to your account, and pick it as your staking wallet. Using a different wallet? Most wallets that support the Base network can connect through WalletConnect.
Step 3: Choose your amount and lock period
Enter how much OMI to stake (1,000,000 minimum, no maximum) and pick a lock period:
- 3 months: 1.0× XP
- 6 months: 1.2× XP, and eligible for Ultra Rare collectibles
- 1 year: 1.5× XP, and eligible for Secret Rare collectibles
- 2 years: 2.0× XP
Locks run in calendar months: a 3-month lock started on October 15 ends on January 15. So a 3-month lock started on any day of a season lasts until at least the end of that season.
Longer locks earn XP faster and can claim rarer collectibles, but your OMI stays locked until the period ends, so choose a length you're comfortable with.
Step 4: Confirm your stake
Staking takes two quick confirmations: an approve, which lets the staking contract move the OMI you're staking, then the stake itself, which locks it. Each takes a few seconds on Base.
Gas fees are sponsored when you stake from the embedded wallet made for you. A third-party wallet such as MetaMask pays its own gas, usually a fraction of a cent on Base, so keep a little ETH on Base in it.
Step 5: Earn XP every day
Your XP starts ticking up as soon as the stake confirms. Daily XP works like this:
Daily XP = (OMI staked ÷ 20,000) × lock multiplier × MCP multiplier × NFT boost
- MCP multiplier: your VeVe Master Collector Program level, from 1.0× at level 0 up to 4.0× at level 100. It syncs from VeVe automatically.
- NFT boost: +8% for holding an ECOMI SR Logo collectible and +7% for a VeVe Gold & Silver Logo collectible, so +15% for both.
For example, 10M OMI locked for 1 year at MCP level 50 earns about 1,313 XP a day. Try your own numbers with the XP estimator. Your first-ever stake also earns a 500 XP welcome bonus.
Step 6: Manage your stake
- Top up any time before your lock ends (10,000 OMI minimum). Topping up keeps your unlock date, and the new OMI earns straight away.
- Extend your lock to a longer period. The new lock runs from the day you extend, your XP rate goes up immediately, and the XP you've earned is kept.
- Exit early only if you really need to: 20% of your staked OMI is deducted and burned, and you forfeit that season's rewards unless you stake again before the season closes.
Step 7: Collect at season close
When the season closes, your XP rank decides your collectible and your share of the Gem pool, and both are delivered to your VeVe account. If your lock is still running, your stake keeps earning into the next season.
If your lock ends before the season closes, you keep your place: your XP stops growing, but your final rank still decides your collectible and your XP share of the Gems. Restake to keep climbing. When your lock ends, you can withdraw your OMI back to the wallet that staked it, or restake it into a new lock to keep earning.
Tips for climbing the leaderboard
- A bigger stake, a longer lock and a higher MCP level all multiply together.
- XP accrues every second of the season, so the earlier you're staked, the more you earn.
