OMI and staking FAQ
Everything you need to know about OMI, staking with OMI Unlimited, rewards, wallets and compliance, in plain English.
Getting started
6 questionsOMI is the utility and rewards token powering the VeVe digital collecting ecosystem. It's used for transactions, staking and access across more than 200 licensed brand partnerships, including Disney, Marvel, Star Wars, DC and many more.
ECOMI is the company behind OMI, the token. VeVe is the digital collecting platform OMI powers: OMI is the on-chain utility and rewards layer for transactions, staking and access across VeVe.
OMI is listed on major centralized exchanges including Kraken, OKX, BingX, Gate.io and MEXC, is available through the Binance and Coinbase Web3 wallets, and trades on Uniswap. The Get OMI page links to each one, and the How to buy OMI guide in News walks through it step by step.
OMI is on Ethereum and Base. OMI Unlimited staking and most ecosystem activity happen on Base, the most popular layer 2 network on Ethereum, offering security, reliability and low transaction costs. Both official contract addresses are listed on the Get OMI page.
Bridge it. Superbridge moves OMI from Ethereum to Base through Base's standard bridge, and the Get OMI panel in the staking app links straight to it. You'll need a little ETH on Ethereum to pay for the bridge transaction. Always check you're receiving the official Base token (0x3792dbdd07e87413247df995e692806aa13d3299) before you stake.
OMI is not available in all jurisdictions, and restrictions vary by exchange and by feature. EU users should review the MiCA whitepaper linked in the footer. Always check your local regulations before buying or staking.
Staking OMI
9 questionsOMI Unlimited is the official OMI staking program for the VeVe ecosystem. You lock OMI on Base, earn XP every day, and when each season closes your XP turns into exclusive collectibles and VeVe Gems. Season 1 runs from October 1 to December 31, 2026.
Sign in with your VeVe account, then lock at least 1,000,000 OMI for 3 months to 2 years. While it's locked you earn XP daily, set by your stake amount, lock period, MCP level and any eligible NFTs. At season close, your XP rank decides your collectible and your share of the VeVe Gem pool.
1,000,000 OMI. There is no maximum.
Four: 3 months (1.0×), 6 months (1.2×), 1 year (1.5×) and 2 years (2.0×). Locks run in calendar months, so a 3-month lock started on any day of a season lasts until at least the end of that season. Longer locks earn XP faster and can claim rarer collectibles: Ultra Rare needs a 6-month lock or longer, and Secret Rare needs 1 year or longer.
No. Staking is fully non-custodial. Your OMI is locked in an on-chain smart contract on Base that you can verify yourself, and lock periods are enforced by the contract, not by ECOMI. Any admin change needs 3 of 5 signers on a multisig, then waits in a public 48-hour queue before it can run, and withdrawals can never be paused.
Yes, any time before your lock ends, with a minimum of 10,000 OMI per top-up. Topping up doesn't change your unlock date, and the new OMI starts earning XP straight away at your current rate.
Yes. You can move an active stake to a longer lock at any time; a lock can never be shortened. The new lock runs from the day you extend, your XP rate goes up straight away, and the XP you've already earned is kept.
Yes, but 20% of your staked OMI is deducted and burned, and you forfeit that season's rewards unless you stake again before the season closes. Your XP is kept, so a new stake picks up where you left off. Treat a lock as a commitment and only exit early if you really need to.
Your stake stops earning XP once its lock ends. You can withdraw your OMI back to the wallet that staked it, or restake it into a new lock to keep earning. Either way, the XP and rewards you've already earned stay yours.
Rewards and seasons
8 questionsXP (experience points) builds every day from your staked amount, lock period, MCP level and eligible NFTs. For example, 10M OMI locked for 1 year (1.5×) at MCP level 50 (1.75×) earns about 1,313 XP a day. Your season XP decides your rank, your collectible and your share of the Gem pool.
VeVe Gems are VeVe's in-platform currency. Each season has a Gem pool that's paid out after it closes: 80% is shared in proportion to XP, and 20% is split evenly among everyone whose lock runs to the end of the season, with a minimum of 10 Gems each. Gems are delivered straight to your VeVe account.
MCP is VeVe's Master Collector Program. Your MCP level, from 0 to 100, rises as you collect primary drops and trade on the marketplace, and it syncs to OMI Unlimited automatically. It multiplies your daily XP on a rising curve: level 50 gives 1.75× and level 100 gives 4×. An active stake also earns bonus MCP points in VeVe every day, up to 1,500 a day with 10M OMI staked.
Holding an ECOMI SR Logo collectible adds 8% to your daily XP, and a VeVe Gold & Silver Logo collectible adds 7%, so holding both adds 15%. Up to two collections count at once, and boosts apply automatically from your VeVe account.
At season close your XP rank places you in a rarity band: Secret Rare (top 1%), Ultra Rare (top 3%), Rare (top 10%), Uncommon (top 25%) or Common. You earn the collectible for your band plus every band below it. Ultra Rare needs a 6-month lock or longer, and Secret Rare needs 1 year or longer.
Your XP decides two things: your share of the season's VeVe Gem pool and the collectibles you earn. Both are delivered to your VeVe account after the season closes. If your lock is still running, your stake keeps earning into the next season.
Seasons follow the calendar quarter, about three months each. Season 1 runs from October 1 to December 31, 2026, and Season 2 opens on January 1, 2027.
Yes. Season XP resets when a new season starts, so everyone ranks fresh on a new leaderboard. The collectibles and Gems you've already earned are yours to keep.
Accounts and wallets
4 questionsYes. You sign in to OMI Unlimited with your VeVe account, and your Gems and collectibles are delivered to it. If you don't have one yet, create a free VeVe account first.
An embedded wallet is created for you automatically when you sign in, and you can stake from it straight away. You can also link a third-party wallet such as MetaMask, Coinbase Wallet or Rainbow and stake from that instead. Most wallets that support the Base network can connect through WalletConnect.
Yes. The wallet holding your OMI doesn't have to be the embedded wallet made for you. Link your hardware wallet (or another third-party wallet) in the app and stake directly from it.
Gas fees are sponsored when you stake from the embedded wallet made for you, so staking from it costs you nothing in fees. If you stake from a third-party wallet such as MetaMask, that wallet pays its own gas in ETH on Base, typically a fraction of a cent per transaction.
Tokenomics and burn
3 questionsEvery collectible bought on the StackR marketplace and every USDC to Gem purchase permanently removes OMI from circulating supply. More than 440 billion OMI has been burned to date, and the burn grows with activity: more collecting means more OMI retired.
OMI launched with a fixed maximum supply. Circulating supply falls over time as OMI is permanently burned. Current supply is tracked in real time on Etherscan and Basescan.
Base: 0x3792dbdd07e87413247df995e692806aa13d3299. Ethereum: 0xed35af169af46a02ee13b9d79eb57d6d68c1749e. Both are listed on the Get OMI page. Always check the address before sending tokens.
Risk and compliance
4 questionsNo. OMI is a utility token used for transactions, staking and access within the ecosystem. Staking rewards are VeVe Gems and collectibles, not OMI, fiat or any other financial yield. OMI confers no expectation of profit from the efforts of others.
Yes. OMI's crypto-asset white paper under MiCA, the EU's Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation, was notified in Ireland (its home member state) on November 4, 2025 and published on December 2, 2025. It covers the EU and the wider EEA. Read it through the MiCA whitepaper link in the footer, including its risk disclosures.
Yes. The OMI Unlimited staking contract was independently audited by Hacken, and the final report found no critical, high or medium issues. The full report is linked in the Security section of the staking page. Contract changes also need 3 of 5 multisig signers and then wait in a public 48-hour timelock before they can run. Audits reduce risk but can't remove it entirely.
Cryptocurrency carries inherent risk, including total loss. Smart contracts may have undiscovered vulnerabilities, and staked OMI stays locked for the period you choose unless you exit early with the penalty. The value of OMI can move significantly. Always do your own research and never stake more than you can afford to lock.
Support
3 questionsThe usual causes are a wallet connected to the wrong network, a rejected signature, or (for a third-party wallet such as MetaMask) not enough ETH on Base for fees. Check your wallet is on Base, add a little ETH if it's a third-party wallet, then try again. If it keeps failing, ask for help in Discord.
Sign out and sign back in with the VeVe account you want your rewards delivered to. A stake belongs to the wallet that made it, so if you've already staked, ask for help in Discord before moving anything.
